Covid Protocol for Your Next Facial Appointment

Your love and care will be the same, but the procedures will be a little different. We are maximizing safety during Covid.

Words cannot express how much we have missed taking care of each of you.  But we’ve been busy getting ready to see you again, taking major steps to be sure our salon is as safe as possible for your return.

Things will look a bit different on your next visit, so we wanted to tell you about them before you come:

We have taken two State-required courses on Infectious Diseases, and a 50-hr course offered by the Esthetics Council on Disinfection & Sanitization that awarded us a Disinfectant Expert Certification. The Council had done a great job at providing detailed guidance on the best practices for a salon in the Covid era. These practices will change the look of your visit, but keep the safety and serenity that you expect.

Just a few of the changes you’ll see:

Personal Protective gear will be worn. Staff will wear face masks at all times, and face shields and fresh clothing/aprons during each treatment. Clients will wear masks except during the treatment itself.

Fresh air has been increased. Fans and ventilation have been installed to maintain a fresh air flow through the shop and in each treatment room.

Human contact will be minimized. Client appointments will be spaced out. This way we can thoroughly disinfect and sanitize the shop and supplies between clients.  When you arrive, if possible please call us on the phone to tell us you have arrived. Wait outside, either in your car or on the bench, until we are ready for you. When called in, we'll take your temperature, you will remove your shoes at the door, head straight to the bathroom to wash your hands and put on a hair bonnet, and then go to the treatment room. Only one client will be walking through the shop at a time. We will make every effort to keep your appointment to the exact time, so you spend less time in the building.

Once in the treatment room.  Once in the room (and 6’ apart), you can talk to the esthetician about your skin and what you’d like to address at this treatment.  You’ll put your belongings in a plastic bin and your jewelry pieces in disposable paper tray.  Then you can climb onto the facial table with your mask still on and wrap yourself up in the sheet (no comforters for now, so wear socks if you like). Now this is the tough part…there will be NO talking once on the table. Once you’re ready, the esthetician will come in, ask you to remove your mask and begin the treatment. If they need to discuss anything with you, they will first go to the doorway in order to increase distance.  We’ll keep the soothing music, but you’ll noticed the sound of large fans and hear outside noises a bit more. This is to maximize fresh air. You’ll notice that we are using hot towels instead of the steamer (less aerosolization).  Otherwise, the care and comfort will be the same as you have grown to love.

Disinfectant rituals will be implemented with and between every client. All surfaces and supplies will be disinfected between clients. You’ll notice that all products have been removed from the treatment room to allow for through cleaning.  You’ll notice the esthetician leaving the room frequently to gather your custom mixes from the supplies in the hallway cabinet. Disinfection logs will be kept for each room. The estheticians will change top clothing and masks between clients.

We cannot express how much we are looking forward to seeing you soon. Stay healthy and safe.
